New magnum jaw for my old HMH Standard fly tying vise. Hooks tended to slip in the original jaw (above) because the serrations are worn. The new jaw is shorter and lacks the non-serrated surface near the tip. The new jaw works very well.
I prefer to seat hooks close to the jaw end and the new design make seating hooks near the end practical.
HMH also sent me replacement derlin washers. I've installed them and the vise is once again very slick. I'm not the original owner of the vise, but I can't imagine it being smoother when it was new.
